How does the AI story generation work?
DynaStory uses Apple Intelligence (FoundationModels) to generate personalized bedtime stories entirely on your device. The AI considers your child's age group and chosen story character to create a unique tale each time. No text is sent to any server — everything happens locally on the device.
On devices that do not support Apple Intelligence, DynaStory automatically uses its built-in library of 60 curated stories instead.
Is DynaStory safe for my child?
Yes. DynaStory was designed with children's safety as a core principle:
The app collects no personal information, contains no ads, includes no third-party tracking, and requires no internet connection. There are no chat features, no social features, and no links to external websites in child-facing screens. All generated stories pass through a content safety filter that checks for age-appropriate language and structure. Parent-only settings are protected behind a 4-digit PIN.
What ages is DynaStory designed for?
DynaStory is designed for children ages 3 to 11. The app offers three age-adapted experiences:
Ages 3-5: Larger text, bigger buttons, slower narration, and simpler stories.
Ages 6-8: A balanced reading and listening experience with moderate story complexity.
Ages 9-11: Richer vocabulary, more nuanced stories, and a reading-focused experience.
Text size, narration speed, and story content all adjust automatically based on the selected age group.
How many stories are available?
DynaStory includes a curated library of 60 bedtime stories covering all five characters and all age groups. These stories are bundled with the app and available without any internet connection.
On supported iPhone models with Apple Intelligence, the app can also generate new stories on demand using on-device AI. Each generated story is unique and saved to your local story library.
How do I create a new story?
Open the Stories tab, choose an age group, pick a story character, and tap through the story creation flow. The app will either generate a local story on supported iPhones or choose a bundled fallback story when on-device AI is unavailable.
I forgot my parent PIN. How do I reset it?
DynaStory does not collect email addresses, so there is no email-based PIN reset. To reset the parent PIN, delete and reinstall the app, or use any reset option provided in iOS Settings for the app. This also removes local app data from the device.
How do I export a story?
Story export is parent-only. Open the Parent tab, pass the parent gate, unlock with your PIN, and use the dashboard export controls. Export uses the iOS share sheet and does not upload stories to DynaStory servers.
Why is narration or AI generation not available?
On-device AI requires a supported iPhone and Apple Intelligence availability. When AI generation is unavailable, DynaStory uses its built-in story library. Narration uses iOS system speech features and may depend on device sound settings, selected voice availability, and accessibility settings.
Does DynaStory work offline?
Yes, DynaStory works entirely offline. The app contains no networking code at all. Both the curated story library and the on-device AI story generation work without an internet connection. Stories, settings, and progress are stored locally on your device.
